Go Green…for your heart

I created these earrings for a beautiful, single woman as a birthday gift to herself.  She wanted Emerald earrings in a simple setting so she could wear them everyday.  To enhance the warm tones I used yellow gold and added some yellow diamonds underneath to make them a little extra special.  When I asked her why specifically she wanted Emeralds she said “because green is the color of the Heart Chakra!” We often associate the heart and love with the color red when in fact it should be green! It is the combining of yellow (the soul) and blue (the spirit).

SO, in anticipation of Valentine’s Day wear a green stone and bring some healing energy to your heart!

Endless Summer

“Daydreaming of an endless Summer? Wear something from KVH Al MARE to bring you back to the beach. This Freshwater Baroque pearl strand wrapped twice around the wrist looks effortly chic. Like the ocean, your eyes will never tire of gazing upon the handmade sapphire and diamond plunger clasp which was created in the organic shape of these wonderful sea beauties. This piece is lovely simply worn alone or stacked up with a chunky gold link bracelet. Easily paired with jeans and a silk blouse or a structured sheath dress.

Neutral Tones

Neutral tones are the colors of the moment but I have always been a big fan of neutral shades. When it comes to makeup, nude lip color and nail polish are always chic, elegant and never go out of style. My favorite colors for lips are by Tom Ford in Blush Nude and Nude Vanille, both can be worn alone or with a gloss such as Naked (the name says it all). For nails my three go to shades are by Essie in Topless and Barefoot, Spin the Bottle and Tie the Knot. The are all slightly opaque without looking chalky.

Nude shades aren’t just limited to makeup. With accessories, we all know that a nude Manolo Blahnik sandal or Christian Loubutin pump elongates the leg and a beige bag is good for all seasons but how about jewelry?

Blush colored stones such as Morganite are great for any skin tone, day or night. When set in Rose gold the color becomes even more rich in a “sun-kissed” sort of way. A perfect example are these Oval Morganite drop earrings set in 18k Rose gold from KVH NYC. This warm, monochromatic look is the perfect accessory to compliment a simple black dress or a cream silk blouse and slacks.
